First of all, I have always been a huge fan of Pampered Chef. 99% of my kitchen is comprised of Pampered Chef products.That's probably why I expected more out of this particular product...but I was greatly disappointed. First, the good stuff: It's fairly easy to clean, it holds plenty of filling (so you don't have to refill it too often) and it's not hard to figure out how it works. However, there's plenty of bad, as well: First of all, it doesn't come with very many tips, and it's quite difficult to find other tips that fit. Because of this, it's hard to get very imaginative in your decorating. Second, it's good for generic designs, but if you want to do smaller decorating -- adding faces to your cookies, etc., this is not the product for you. It's outright horrible with details, and the barrel is rather difficult to aim properly. However, the worst thing for me was the fact that it's actually physically painful to use. For those that don't know, to use this product, you fill the barrel with the filling of your choice, and press down the thumb press to push filling out of the tip. However, using regular frosting, I couldn't even press it down with my thumb. I had to hold it differently and use the palm of my hand to press it down, and even then, I had to take a break after every cupcake. It's not that I'm particularly weak -- my mom, a friend, and my dad have all tried it. None of them were able to operate it with their thumb. In addition, I had to press so hard to get frosting out that it actually left a purple bruise on the palm of my hand.Perhaps using something less dense than frosting, such as whipped cream or a very light frosting, might have worked better -- but for a decorator aimed for those who decorate cookies, cupcakes, etc., frosting is probably the most common use, and it's not very usable.It's not a bad enough product that I'd throw it away, but it's probably not coming out of my cupboard for a very, very long time. I'll stick with Wilton from now on.

I like this decorator but the thumb press broke after a couple years and after reading the Wilton Reviews I guess I should feel lucky that it lasted that long. This thing is great for stuffing pasta, the cheese mixture into squash blossoms, and frosting cupcakes. But it's not so good for detailed decorating.It's easy to clean, fits back into the box nicely. I like it, it's just too bad about the thumb press. At least it's not totally unusable though. I can still press on the top to make the stuff inside come out, it's just not as easy to use this way.
